Concert on the northern outskirts of Naples long the Path of Hope and Solidarity...
"I know of persons who go beyond barriers, who willingly and personally pay the consequences of their choices, who do not know how to use weapons and arms, but know how to use their hearts."
These are the words from a song of Gen Rosso that Annalisa Durante, an innocent 14-year-old victim of an ambush orchestrated by the camorra in Forcella in 2004, wrote in her diary.
Presicely this song happens to be included in the repertoire last Sunday, July 1, 2007,t 9:00 pm by this original musical group at the grounds of the Social Center of don Guanella di Miano, which marks the start of the summer activities for the children of the same district.
Artists, who consider themselves direct ambassadors of peace and solidarity interpreted such values of peace and solidarity through their songs on stage.
One year after the death of Annalisa, Gen Rosso has performed their concert excatly on the same spot in Forcella to sustain a reawakened social conscience right after the tragedy. And until now the musical group intends to bring into light the testimony of life of those, who ,like Annalisa, knew how to contribute to the city's social reawakening especially on its northern part like the areas of Secondigliano, Scampia e Miano. But excatly here, beyond the decay and institutional solitude, a social center thrives on the edge of survival that part of Naples the continues to resist. The concert last Sunday was a concrete example, an attempt to "amplify the positive which already lies in the heart of every person."
"I know of persons who know how to give their lives, and die for their own people"
Could it only be simple excerpt of a song, found among the pages of a diary of a teen-age girl who simply wanted to confide her secrets and wishes? Or maybe it's a trampled hope that continues to survive in each and everyone, like fire under the ashes?
