ATAMBUA (Timor)

ENG A small town on the island of Timor, located in the province of the Little Sunda Islands, where one can breathe simplicity, tradition and a deep sense of family. Full of children and young people who with their joy and enthusiasm already show a better future (as long as the rulers keep the peace) that made us feel the scent of home here!

In the places we visit, especially the most "distant" ones, we love to share our stage with local musicians, singers and dancers, properly trained. Here in Atambua we have also studied a traditional Bahasa song with a new arrangement. The languages spoken were the most diverse but as we played they all became one ...
Some statistical data: 150 youth in the workshops, the concert of November 9th saw 500 spectators and that of November 11th 1200 spectators.

ITA Una piccola città dell'isola di Timor, situata nella provincia delle Piccole Isole della Sonda, dove si respira semplicità, tradizione e il senso profondo di famiglia. Ricca di bambini e giovani che con la loro gioia e il loro entusiasmo fanno già vedere un futuro migliore (purché i governanti mantengano la pace) che qui ci ha fatto sentire il profumo di casa!

Nei luoghi in cui andiamo, specialmente i più "distanti", amiamo condividere il nostro palco con musicisti, cantanti e ballerini del posto, adeguatamente preparati. Qui ad Atambua abbiamo fra l’altro studiato una canzone tradizionale in lingua bahasa con un nuovo arrangiamento. Qualche dato statistico:150 ragazzi nei workshop, il concerto del 9 novembre ha visto 500 spettatori e quello del 11 di novembre 1200 spettatori.

Qualcuno di noi ha esclamato: oggi nell'isola di Atambua in Indonesia abbiamo avuto la gioia di incontrare questi straordinari musicisti, cantanti e ballerini. Abbiamo suonato e studiato nella sala prove del loro villaggio, ma soprattutto ci siamo raccontati le nostre storie così apparentemente lontane e invece...
